How the process works

OPENING YOUR ACCOUNT WITH THUMB GROOVE GUITARS
You begin the process by opening an account with a $200.00 down payment which is applied to the final cost of your guitar. Once your account is open, Thumb Groove sends you a tailor kit which includes samples of neck woods, fret materials / shapes and machine heads.

Also included & unique to the Thumb Groove Process are the thumb profile short necks. A unique tool which help define your thumbs’ paths as it travels the guitars neck. These profiles allow Thumb Groove to learn your thumbs movements while playing. Information which is then applied to the tailoring of your guitar.
A consult follows with Steve Johnston, the founder of Thumb Groove. Reviewing tailoring points that can be applied from the tailor kit. Modification points from bridges and pickups to fret size and materials are selected with your direct input. Allowing for the guitar to be tailored to your exact specifications

Finally, a blueprint of your guitar will be sent to you for your final approval. Only then does the build begin.

Thumb Groove carries no inventory of prebuilt guitars because each guitar is one-of-a-kind.

Every Thumb Groove Guitar is unique to the individual.
